Clastic Ngrayong Sand Reservoir and Prupuh Carbonate Reservoir in the NE Java Basin
PURPOSE
The main purpose of The Field Seminar is to introduce the participants to the Petroleum System on the NE. Java Basin, exploration Concepts and Methods.
The topic to be discussed is based on outcrop evidence, focusing in tectonic evolution, process and products of sedimentation, paleontology, sequence stratigraphy that related to the sea level changes, kartz phenomena, comparation of surface and subsurface data, such as seismic stratigraphy, and well log data.
The final purpose of this field seminar in the NE Java Basin area is a better understanding of the petroleum system; the participants will be able to formulate recommendation and present new ideas supporting the activities of exploration in NE Java Basin and other area.
FIELD SEMINAR OBJECTIVE
Northeast Java Basin is Back Arc Basin, divided in to two sub basins (Rembang Sub basin in the northern part and Kendeng Sub basin in the southern part). Tectonically, Rembang Sub basin is relatively stable but in Kendeng sub basin tectonically unstable.
In Rembang Sub basin is deposited dominantly by clastic quartz sand and clastic & reefal carbonate.
In the Kendeng sub basin is deposited dominantly by turbidity sediment such as Kerek Formation.
