9. An Overview of Tight Gas and Shale Gas

Description

This course will cover Unconventional gas industry, including tight gas and shale gas, but will emphasize coal bed methane (CBM), as it is more pertinent to the Indonesian, and Asian, industry.

The course will discuss the entire Unconventional Gas project spectrum, and will provide an introduction to those who are new to the CBM industry, and will also review the Indonesian CBM sector.

The CBM industry, due to the nature of coal, has much more variable characteristics than the conventional oil and gas industry, and needs a different E and .P approach. The course will illustrate the similarities and differences and how to manage the risk for CBM projects.
