Initiatives include:

  • Education
  • Community Health
  • Rural economic development
  • Public facilities
  • Disaster Relief

Caring for the Environment

The industry works to drive incidents with environmental impact to zero, and to ensure that oil and gas operations do no harm to the environment

All Production Sharing Contract partners have complete the AMDAL environmental impact assessment process during their exploration and exploitation stages. This helps them identify key environmental drivers and plan for successful environmental management.

Other environment-related programs include the use of environmentally friendly technology such as CCS (Carbon Capture Storage), gasification, and improvements in energy efficiency, as well as educating and training local communities about conserving and caring for the environment.

Climate Change

Indonesia's energy demand will increase in the next 25 years. While it has present opportunities to oil and gas industry in Indonesia, this situation has created an environmental issue.

The challenges of Indonesia's energy and environmental are inevitable. It is IPA's interest to constantly to address this issue to Government of Indonesia, general public, NGOs and Media as well as IPA's individual and company members.

Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) urges its company members to balance between the high demand of energy and environmental impact it posses from this situation. The association asked its company members to continuously present a paramount commitment to environmental protection, energy efficiency and reducing emission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as to apply energy diversification.
