The Industry

Geothermal energy derived from the natural heat generated deep within the earth, which is trapped in the natural reservoirs underground with depths ranging from a few hundred meters to more than 3000 meters. In some locations, such as in Java, following the eruption of magma melts along the soil surface will heat the water in the basement and create a pool of standing water and hot steam. Pumping puddles will produce enough heat to drive turbines producing electricity.

Indonesia has the largest geothermal energy sources in the world. Located on the circle that surrounds the volcano Pacific Ocean, Indonesia has a clean source of renewable energy is in abundance, which is balanced by the energy supply of hydrocarbon reserves (reserves of oil and natural gas). Areas rich in geothermal energy source that is stretched along the equator from Sumatra, Java and Bali, Sulawesi, Maluku up to Nusa Tenggara.

Arguably, geothermal energy provides an important contribution in Indonesia. This energy is a clean energy source and free from any harmful effects, such as that caused by the centers of plants and factories fossil fuel users. Unlike coal and energy sources other hydrocarbons, geothermal energy can fully updated and available forever if managed properly. Land required to operate the energy generation is also relatively small, and can be operated side by side with agriculture and habitat location beings. As a source of pollution-free clean energy, geothermal support the fulfillment of the country's energy needs while increasing the supply of fossil fuels (petroleum) that can be exported.

In essence, geothermal energy offers a variety of exciting new opportunities in improving the living standards of the people of Indonesia that this energy is very promising for the future of the nation.
