Cepu Field is a brownfield that has been producing since 1888 and has a total of 1348 wells with 746 production wells, 19 injection wells, and 583 idle wells. There is potential to increase production from idle wells, but there are several obstacles to the reactivation process, namely the absence of well history (unidentified fish) and the absence of well integrity data inspection tools. The solution to the problem of fish inspection tools is to use a downhole camera modification from a 3.5” L80 pup joint, 12 mm thick glass, 2.5” plunger sucker rod pump, camera, and scuba lighting. The assembly of the downhole camera was carried out by Pertamina EP with patent number IDS000008255, which refers to the API 5CT and API 11AX standards with a maximum temperature of 593 degrees Celsius and a maximum pressure of 1500 psi. The results of the downhole camera modification have a 100% accuracy rate compared to the impression block, with only 1 investment costing $240, and the revenue generated on 8 idle wells using the downhole camera was $979,185, and the fishing work time was faster with an average of 7 hours.
