3D Porosity Model of Parigi and Pre-Parigi Carbonate Using Acoustic Impedance Volume in LL Field, Offshore North West Java

Gas Reservoir Carbonate LL- Parigi & Pre Parigi has been produced since 1997 from 11 wells. These reservoirs still have potential for new infills based on conventional calculation. In order to lower uncertainties and to assist finding potential location for new infill then dynamic modeling is required. For those purposes, dynamic modeling required 3D static modeling which will provide properties model and capture reservoir heterogeneity as well. There are series of properties modeling yet this research would be focus on porosity model only. Traditionally, porosity modeling required Facies model to guide porosity distribution within reservoir. Since LL Parigi and Pre parigi are carbonate reservoirs hence core data is essential to determine Facies type and its depositional environment. Yet core data isn�t available in LL Field. With the absence of core data then Facies model could not be build and even so, the result would be questionable and increase uncertainty should apply on porosity model. Fortunately, LL field has reliable 3D seismic and able to produce accurate Acoustic Impedance (AI) volume which has strong correlation with porosity data. Hence, AI volume could be utilized as 3D trend/guidance for porosity modeling with the absence of Facies model. The result would be porosity distribution model that follow the AI volume and captured reservoir heterogeneity. The study result of the porosity model can be utilized for Dynamic Modeling.
