Application of Traveltime Tomography and Kirchhoff Migration Methods to Improve the Seismic Cross-section Resolution on 2D Land Seismic Data

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 43rd Ann. Conv., 2019

2D land seismic data in the form of shot gather was acquired by PT. Jaya Energy Buana and seismic data processing has been carried out using Geotomo software. Most of the processing results depend on to process 2D Land seismic data and analyse the important stages in seismic data processing such as: geometry input, static correction, filtering, and migration to get a cross section with high resolution of PSTM and PSDM for later interpretation. Therefore, we propose this study to investigate the cross section of 2D land seismic. The method used focuses on the travel time tomography method to produce a model of the subsurface speed of the earth obtained from the first break picking process and the Kirchhoff migration to move the reflector point to its actual position. The results obtained from the processing indicate that the first break picking process will greatly affect the processed seismic data. In addition, static correction will determine the velocity model created. Travel time tomography has a role to facilitate the calculation and determination of static correction as well as to make near surface velocity. The seismic section of PSTM and PSDM in the pre-processing shows the structure of the coating and reflector which is more clear than post-processing.
