Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 34th Ann. Conv., 2010

Identification of coral fossil samples taken from Jonggrangan Formation exposed on the western slope of Kucir Hill yields 9 species. These are: Species A, Species B, Porites Sp. A, Porites Sp. B, Montastrea Sp. A, Montastrea Sp. B, Montastrea Sp. C, Montastrea Sp. D and Montastrea Sp. E. Porites are found as rubble of branching coral, while Montastrea are massive. At present they are found in shallow reef environments. According to this study, it is concluded that due to the presence of Porites and Montastrea, the western slope of Kucir hill was a flat reef structure in the past.
