Inhibition of H2S corrosion of carbon steel by tea leaf extract (Camelia sinensis)- modified triazine

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 38th Ann. Conv., 2014

An extract tea leaf (Camelia sinensis) modified triazine, namely hexahydro-1,3,5-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)-s triazine with concentrations of 100, 200, 300 and 400 ppm, were investigated for inhibition of H2S corrosion of carbon steel. Electrical resistance techniques were used to measure corrosion rates and inhibition efficiencies of extracts of tea leaf-triazine mixture. Study results determined thatperformance efficiencies of tea leaf-triazine extract corrosion inhibitor performance in 100 ppm H2S with efficiency up to 93.68% at 400 ppm concentration. Keywords : Inhibitor, corrosion, carbon steel
