Innovative for Global Production Optimization Techniques of Kalimantan Oil Field with Gas Lift Allocation Under Limited Gas Supply Using Equal Slope Method

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 43rd Ann. Conv., 2019

Gas lift is one of the most common artificial lift methods in single well or several well in the oilfield. Because of the price to compress the gas and price of the gas itself is high, an optimum allocation for several well is needed to get the optimum production, moreover however the gas supply to inject is limited. General problem that occur in continuous gaslift are the limited gas supply. The challenges is how we can distribute the injection gas supply to each well effectively. There are some method to optimized continuous gas lift; Equal Slope method, the Newton Reduction method, Mathematical method, etc. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. Equal slope method is chosen because it only needs three data; the number of gas lift wells, total gas injection rate and gaslift performance curve. The result is Simple-Effective-Efficient model that constructed by those three data. The purpose of this paper is to present a methodology for automatically determining the optimum gas injection rate for a group of wells in order to maximize the total oil production rate for a given total amount of gas. Optimization of allocation gas lift by equal slope method can produce more gain from the existing. In this case, after doing optimization of allocation gas lift with limited gas injection rate, the production will increase 11,16%. So its proven that Equal Slope method can increase production of continuous gas lift.
