Seismic facies study in the Sepasu area of East Kalimantan

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 12th Ann. Conv., 1983

A detailed seismic survey shot over the SEPASU area of the continental margin of EAST KALIMANTAN shows several stratigraphic features. From these, a construction of the geological history of this area has been attempted.Three major sequences can be distinguished:1. A phase of deltaic construction in Middle Miocene.2. A transgression phase with extensive carbonate deposition during Early Upper Miocene time.3. A tilting of the basin eastward and a regression with deltaic deposition during Upper Miocene to Pliocene time. These sequences can be related to sedimentary units previously defined in the South MAHAKAM area.
