Traditional PM strategies often suffer from scattered resources, uncoordinated scheduling, low wrench time, different standard execution and extended downtime. Breakthrough maintenance strategy is needed to fulfill plant reliable and high direct operation efficiency (DOE).
This manuscript aims to share success story implementation of campaign maintenance in MEPG Corridor block which covers areas of Suban, Grissik, Sumpal, Dayung, Rawa and Gelam.
In May 2024, the MEPG Corridor block established the Turbo Machinery Campaign Team (TMCT) to enhance preventive maintenance (PM) for turbomachinery across its assets. This specialized, multidisciplinary team—comprising Instrumentation, Electrical, and Mechanical experts—aims to streamline maintenance execution, improve work efficiency, and reduce downtime.
Prior to implementation, key preparatory activities included reviewing maintenance strategies, optimizing PM programs, load leveling adjustments, resource allocation, and piloting the initiative.
A phased implementation strategy—starting with a pilot program and expanding into full rollout—ensures continuous improvement and alignment with long-term operational goals. This initiative strengthens asset reliability and enhances overall plant performance.
The TMCT perform has significantly improved time execution about 34%, maintenance quality improves by increasing plant reliability 0,39%, plant reliability 0,44%, reduce unplanned down time 19% and reduced loss production opportunity (LPO) by approximately 270 MBOE.
