Challenges to Processing, Interpretation and Depth Conversion Posed by dynamic Statics over the Ujung-Pangkah Field

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 33rd Ann. Conv., 2009

The rapid deposition of unconsolidated sediments of the Solo river delta results in an extremely low velocity layer that rapidly changes with time. This layer produces large long and short spatial wavelength statics that is difficult to compensate for with standard processing techniques (refraction/reflection statics). This phenomenon overlies the Ujung-Pangkah Field. This paper describes the phenomenon and the processing, interpretation and risk management techniques we have employed to mitigate the deleterious effects of these statics.
