Effective Solutions to Deliver an Offshore Subsea Project Despite Several Challenge During Execution

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 47th Ann. Conv., 2023

An Offshore Subsea Project was planned as a fast-track project to support a PSC block’s gas commercialization with on-stream target within 12 months from sanction. The Project Team faced challenges and were able to respond with effective solutions to secure the first gas within the required schedule whilst optimizing the Project’s cost. Synergy between the Project’s Team and within Company organization helped the team to resolve and overcome the challenges. The Project successfully modified and tied-in to an obsolete 15+ years old Subsea Production Control System to allow for additional production from new wells. A thorough selection of Flexible Pipeline system was made to allow for a tie-in to an existing Pipeline System whilst optimizing offshore installation work and duration. A combined and synergized offshore spread mobilization for an additional scope of new subsea power cable system were successfully and safely executed during the Project. And lastly, quick re-scoping and re-engineering were executed to mitigate issues during offshore commissioning to allow for an immediate start-up of the facilities.
