Handling of heavy Jatibarang crude oil production

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 4th Ann. Conv., 1975

The high pourpoint of Jatibarang Crude has required special design of production and export lifting facilities. Certain assumptions a.o. on crude oil data and crude stream were taken as design criteria due to the limited data available at that time.Subsequent development drilling called for some changes in production facilities design, because locations of the two Blockstations required long flowlines which would restrict well's production to an important extent. Operationally, the insulated 18in trunkline and the 36in submarine loading line are giving satisfactory performances. This paper describes the practical performance of the installed high paraffinic crude facilities. Further development of the field is now continuing based on gained experience, an offshore production stream (A.R.I.I.-X field) is being tied in into the shipping terminal.
