Induced Gamma Ray Spectroscopy (IGS) log application in the Java Sea

Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 25th Ann. Conv., 1996

Cased hole Induced Gamma Ray Spectroscopy logs have been used to evaluate wells for both new completions and recompletions in the Maxus Southeast Sumatra Production Sharing Contract (PSC) area of the Java Sea. For new completions in highangle development wells with limited open-hole data. the logs were used to select perforation intervals. For wells with existing completions, the carbon-oxygen logs were used to locate intervals with bypassed oil. Examples are presented for cased hole logs run in both carbonates and sandstones.
