The complex stratigraphic pattern of the Banyumas area involves volcanics, turbidite, and normal marine sediments. New and more detailed data from the recent field survey resulted in more comprehensive and altered stratigraphic concept, as compared to previous reports. Oil seepages and hydrocarbon indications encourage future exploration efforts in this area. Detailed stratigraphic studies and structural analysis are necessary to appraise the petroleum possibilities as a basis for further exploration activities.
