The rapid evolution of information technology and IoT (Internet of Things) has provided opportunities to enhance operational efficiency in the oil and gas industry. High drilling activity has highlighted critical challenges in managing scattered data files across functions. Currently, there are 129 prognoses and 7446 geological data from 70 Wells that has been submitted to Well-i. Managing daily drilling geological reports and preparing for upcoming drilling programs are hindered by scattered data files, multiple redundancies, and a lack of integrated systems. These challenges are compounded by the limited availability of human resources, making data validation and synchronization inefficient and prone to errors. Current practices, relying on fragmented conventional sheets and suboptimal data exchange methods, leading to significant obstacles in data management.

This project introduces Well-i, an integrated digital platform leveraging IoT and digital transformation principles to address these challenges. Well-i consolidate scattered subsurface and drilling data into a unified, secure, and accessible system. Key features include real-time data synchronization through automated email notifications, role-based access control, and dynamic dashboards for monitoring progress and status. The platform also supports wellsite geologists (WSG) in documenting and managing drilling activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.

Through digitization, Well-i streamlines workflows, reduces inefficiencies, and enhances decision-making by integrating IoT-enabled devices for real-time data collection and analysis. In 2024 and 2025, the platform is designed to support the execution of 129 well prognoses, contributing significantly to improved well monitoring, streamlined collaboration, and enhanced data management for well close-out operations. The system also incorporates features such as version control, multi-stage reviews, and automated notifications to ensure consistency and accountability.

The implementation of Well-i establishes a robust foundation for an ultimate digitalization program, offering a scalable solution that can be replicated across the industry, ensuring long-term operational growth and innovation. By addressing inefficiencies and enhancing data security, the platform sets a new benchmark for operational excellence and data-driven decision-making.
