Proceedings Title : Proc. Indon. Petrol. Assoc., 41st Ann. Conv., 2017
The Trembono Fault Complex in Bayat, Klaten Regency of Central Java, is known as a prominent strike-slip deformation relative to the East Java Southern Mountains. The Trembono Fault Complex trends NNE-SSW with left-lateral kinematics and develops simultaneously with Normal Fault structures. Strike-slip faults in the Complex are arranged in a right-stepping manner, resultant from a transpressive regime. This study shall integrate kinematic analyses, image processing, and observed stratigraphic constrains to build an integrated geologic framework. Kinematic analyses gave insights to the context of stress and strain distributions. These were supported by image processing techniques which illustrate the regional view and the fault configuration. Since Normal Fault structures may reflect either contemporaneous sedimentation or contemporaneous structuring, measuring outcrop sections were performed to observe both the relative lithofacies distributions and the basal detachment.. All the data and various analyses went through a synthesis and we concluded that syn-tectonic Normal Fault structures developed within a transpressive regime.
