Change of President of The Indonesian Petroleum Association

Jakarta – With effect from 28th July 2011, Jim Taylor, General Manager of ConocoPhillips Indonesia and previously Vice President of the IPA, will replace Ron Aston and assume his position as the new President of the Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA). Ron Aston is leaving the country for his new assignment as the new General Manager of Talisman Malaysia Limited. 

Sincere appreciation is extended to Ron Aston for his contribution and efforts in leading the IPA to become one of the most prominent energy associations in Indonesia, with its mission to work as partner of choice with the Government of Indonesia in fully realizing the hydrocarbon potential of Indonesia for the maximum benefit of all stakeholders; the Government, contractors and, most importantly, the people of Indonesia.

Founded on March 24th 1971, the IPA is a non-profit organization that embraces all aspects of the oil and gas industry in Indonesia. The Association aims to create a forum for its members to discuss common concerns, exchange ideas and work towards common goals for the industry. The IPA also acts as a partner to relevant government institutions and provides the industry’s views on how to encourage a favorable environment for investment and competitiveness.
